MCHE has upgraded its Resource Center with a computerized, integrated library system. Rather than using traditional check-out cards, we have entered bibliographic data into the computer and inserted a corresponding bar code in every resource. At checkout, information for each Resource Center patron will be computerized and a bar-coded library card will be issued. Patrons have the option of keeping their cards or having them stored in a file box behind the front desk in the MCHE office. |
When returning resources, patrons should be sure to hand them to an MCHE staff member so barcodes can be scanned. Over the next few months, MCHE will be cataloguing and classifying all resources so that patrons can use the Resource Center computer to search for materials by categories, such as camp name, specific events or country. In the meantime, patrons needing assistance should ask a staff member. |
The Resource Center is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesdays when school is in session. More than 1,400 titles are available for free loan to teachers, students or the general public. This includes over 200 videos that are listed with annotations on MCHE’s web site. Up to four resources may be checked out for a period of two weeks. |
