White Rose Student Essay Contest

The White Rose Student Essay Contest offers 8th-12th grade students in the Greater Kansas City area the chance to conduct historical research and draw connections between the Holocaust and contemporary issues. Grouped into 8th-9th and 10th-12th grade divisions, finalists are recognized at a spring reception and top winners in each division receive cash awards. Additionally, each winning sponsoring teacher receives cash stipends and a Remembrance and Hope Resource Chest for his/her classroom.

Living Voices

Anne Frank: Through the Eyes of a Friend

Living Voices, a theatrical group from Seattle, returns with a dramatic one-hour historical program, bringing history to life through a combination of live performance and video. Appropriate for audiences in 6th-12th grade.

Second Generation Speakers Bureau

Speakers share a survivor's story as well as their own perspectives on growing up as the children of survivors. Visits are arranged for middle and high school audiences at least four weeks in advance within the Greater Kansas City area.  

Mosaic of Memories

"Mosaic of Memories," an interactive slide program for groups of 20-50, incorporates photographs of local survivors, along with maps and archival images, into a geographic overview of the Holocaust with particular emphasis on pre- and post-war Jewish life.

This program is appropriate for 6th grade through adult audiences.
